Easy-peezy

This easy-peezy card uses only "Pick-a-Petal" stamps and designer papers for the 'whites' and pupils of the eyes.  Since this will be for a pre-teen nephew . . . I have to be a little more creative.  While trying not to waste a lot of my time.  Right???

Christmas 2012

This year's cards were finished in one day . . . thanks to Stampin' Up's "Simply Sent" card making kits.  I added a few special touches with the outside greeting and inside stamps, along with a quick-drying liquid gel for the berries.

Inks . . . so many inks

Earlier today, I saw this explanation and thought it was worth posting.

There are three basic types of ink pads - water based dye ink pads (Distress, SU, Memento Dye Ink and others):

Water-based dye ink

Pigment based ink pads like some Color Box pads, Stampin' Up! Craft Inks and others, and

Pigment-based ink

then there are solvent based ink pads like Staz-On that are good on non-porous surfaces.

"Elements of Style" stamp set

Some day I'll figure out the size needed for this technique (or maybe I should copy someone's measurements) . . . this was hard to calculate.  The stamping and coloring were easy!

NCMD Part 2

National Card Making Day (NCMD)

I copied this idea from a blog by Heidi Bake, who instructed as follows:  "I applied two colors to a block directly from my ink pad and then I lightly spritzed the block with water to get the colors to blend a bit.  Since the block is a little wetter than usual, it makes interesting ink patterns when you remove the block from the card stock."

Card-making Sunday

I copied this idea . . . the hardest part was finding the right size die for the circle to mask the white part.

Yesterday, I found my collection of sympathy cards empty.  Here are two designs I made to supply my need.

Lego-like card

I made this Lego-like card for our grandson's upcoming birthday. To make the bumps, I ran a line of removable tape on a strip of card stock and then punched them out. (Took me several attempts to come up with that idea!) Tweezers helped with the final application.

Since this was fun and not tedious, I thought it was worth sharing.

Later, I added gloss was added with "crystal effects" (scanning didn't work very well, so I won't show it here).

Easter 2012

Lots of layering here.  Surprisingly, the bird is the easiest part -- thanks to a stamp that fits a coordinating punch!

The designer paper was from a few years ago, but nice for spring time and Easter greetings.
