Feminine Gift Card Holder

I enjoyed following a tutorial I found on Splitcoast Stampers website for this simple gift card holder. I used designer double-sided papers.  The card holder is held closed with a simple "belly band" of paper.

Late fall birthdays

I made 4 of these with a variety of pink and purple papers.  Made especially for 4 ladies who have late fall birthdays.  The textured background came from a pack of specialty hand-made paper and the focal point was cut with a set of label dies.  My favorite thing is the "shadowing" -- it was made with a Copix marker.

Multi-layer card

Multi-layer, multi-fold, and multi-paper pieced birthday greeting for my friend.

Coffee Lover

This stamp set was perfect for making a card for my coffee loving friends. The alphabet stamp set came in handy, too.

I used paper-piecing, gloss gel, and pop dots . . . plus, scissors!

Bold Bright

I used the Stampin' Up Bold Bright paper and added some gel for the icing.

More Scrapbôôk

I had so many nice pictures from this trip, I decided to make a collection by cutting and pasting them together.

Next time I'll use a backdrop of bricks to give the illusion that everyone was actually standing or sitting together.  (I found some paper that has a brick pattern.)

ScRaP bOOk

Who knew -- ScRaP bOOk work requires proofreading!!!  After I had this completed and photographed, I found a mistake in the title. . . . it's now corrected, I think.

Hand-decorated gloss paper

I used Tim Holtz ink and a dauber to decorate this glossy paper.  Note:  the ink takes a while to dry.

Here's another tip:  instead of attaching metal brads, use Stickles or a Viva Pearl Pen to make brad-like embellishments.

June birthdays part 2

This was copied from something I saw on the internet.  Fun!

Post-It Note holders

Two ladies from my church helped me make 10 of these little note pad holders.  First we stamped the bird on blue paper and cut him out.  The little  envelope we stamped on white card stock and cut it out.  The other embellishments were punched with paper punches.

I ran a sheet of clear labels through the printer to add "Post a Note".  Hint:  let the ink dry before you try to peel them away from the sheet of labels.  For some reason the Ink Jet printer sometimes takes a while to dry.

Easter 2014

Saturday I worked on a prototype of the Easter card the Visitation Team plans to make next month.  I used the SU Brushed Gold (which doesn't show up well in the photo), Neutral, and Subtle card stock.  Since we'll assemble @ 35 cards, we'll use an assortment from the Subtle card stock collection:  violet, pink, coral, yellow.

By the way, I have a deeper appreciation for all the work  SU demonstrators contribute to preparing for the workshops, etc.  Took me over 3 hours to assemble all the layers.

March -- Like a Lion

Today, rainy and with a strong prediction for snow and sleet made me think of this painting I did back in 1983.

Early March birthday

We celebrated our friend's March birthday early . . . since we were together again this year.  The card base was made with an embossing folder and colorful felt-tip pens.  It was pretty easy!  (Wonder if he'll notice if I reuse this idea again next year.)

Valentine's 2014

My friends from church assembled these for our members.  (The cards were actually cream color.)

Country flair

The most difficult part of this card was trying to get a good photo copy.  One of the layers (the 2nd one from the top) is metallic, but it doesn't show up clearly.

The chicken wire and barbed wire were created with an embossing folder and then highlighted with a silver gel pen.

Snow-bound January

A Sizzix Flip Flop die and Stampin' Up's designer double-sided paper helped with this card idea.  I made specifically for my friend who loves pink.

My family will recognize the sewing machine -- it looks similar to the machine mother used.
